As all of you know we have experienced significant growth over the last six months. Not only is our warehouse occupancy close to capacity the customers we have brought on board are also more complex than our traditional customer base. With the added volume and complexity it is necessary to reorganize our operations team to support this additional business.
Over the last several months we have interviewed dozens of candidates for many of the positions noted below, both internal and external. Despite some very qualified external candidates I am proud to say we have decided to promote solely from within among our current Co-Worker base. In so doing Commercial is committed to providing each of these deserving individuals a formal training platform that affords an opportunity for further career development and growth. The following promotions and/or organizational changes are effective November 1, 2014.
Area Operations Manager
John MacLeod will be taking the Winter Haven and Bartow position that has been open for some time. John has been instrumental in supporting our growing customer base across our company sites especially for the last year while we have been short handed.
Luis Ruiz has accepted the position of Area Operations Manager for Auburndale. Luis has been with Commercial since 2008 where he started as a forklift operator and over time took on increasing responsibility most recently as Supervisor in Auburndale. Over his tenure Luis has repeatedly been asked to stabilize under performing facilities, and has done so successfully in every case. He and his team in Auburndale do an excellent job in delivering for our customers as well as meeting operational and financial goals.
Chelsea Lawrence has been promoted to Auburndale Supervisor filling Luis’ former role. Chelsea has been with Commercial for six years. During that time she held CSR positions at multiple sites and most recently has served as Auburndale Lead for several sites. Her experience across multiple sites, familiarity with the WMS system and customer focus are important traits that directly impacted our operational success.
Virgil McCombs has been promoted to Supervisor at T5. Virgil started with us in 2011 as a forklift operator and most recently held the position of Facility Lead at T5. Virgil was instrumental in the successful transition and ongoing operational success with several large customers at T6 over the last several years.
Two (2) new positions have been created to enhance our customers experience with CWI. The position includes the management of all customer service related activities and personnel to ensure customer satisfaction as well as other administrative support functions. Those functions include, but are not limited to, training and development, customer relationship management, customer/account billing, documentation, and acting as the resident WMS system super user. All customer service representatives in Winter Haven and Auburndale will report to one of the Administrative Supervisors. In turn the Administrative Supervisors will report directly to the Area Operations Manager.
Danielle Smead and Gracy Ascenio have accepted these two positions; Danielle in Winter Haven and Gracy in Auburndale. Danielle started in inventory control and has done a great job stepping in to the customer billing role since early this year. Her strong computer and communication skills will no doubt be of great benefit going forward. Gracy started in inventory control and has since been covering multiple sites in a lead CSR role. Gracy has consistently gone above and beyond the call whenever we had administrative challenges at any location.
Other Supervisory Changes
Tami Peeples has been serving in an account management role since we began the Restaurant Depot program in Winter Haven. Tami will be taking on more duties associated with this large account including billing, claims coordination, and carrier management.
Jimmy Gostomski will be moving back to T6 to take the recently open position of T6 Supervisor. Jimmy has done a great job in the interim helping to get Restaurant Depot stabilized and operating well across the Winter Haven sites.
Other positions will be opening up as a result of these changes. Please look for these postings in the coming weeks.
As always, your commitment to our customers, shareholders and fellow Co-workers is appreciated.
